洋書物色

前の日記でつまらないと書いた「Sky is Falling」だけど、話が進むにつれて、なかなか面白くなってきたかも。
面白いと感じると読むスピードも自然と速くなるみたいで（早くなるといっても私のレベルはまだまだ遅いけど、自分の中では速いつもり；）今までよりもページ数が少し進んできた。

それで、 far-fetched という表現が出てきて、なんか見たことあるな～と思ったら4月のビジ英に出てきた？表現かも。相変わらず毎月テキストとCDは届いているんだけど、なかなか手を付けられなくて積ん読状態。。
でも小説で表現が出てきてちょっとうれしかったー。
（けど、その時は全然意味が思い出せなかった・・；）

で、調子にのって読めそうな？他の本も物色してみる。。

これは、無人島に不時着した子供達が、最初は楽園気分で無人島生活を楽しむけど、次第にエゴや欲望が狂気を帯びていき、集団の中での人間の極限状態の心理になっていくという話らしい。
サバイバーとかバトル・ロワイヤル的な？匂いのする内容？！
今読んでる本の次の候補に。。

これも面白そう。
離婚した30代女性が外国へ自分探しの旅へ出て、いろんな人に出会って・・みたいな話らしい。
そういう話わりと好きだし。
これも気になる。。

I went to yoga studio with my friends after work.
Today's class was POWER yoga, but I felt easy than I thought.
Every after lesson, instructor serves us a cup of herb tea.
Today's tea was a kind of fruits flavored herb tea.
It smells good and very tasty.
I made a reservation for ISHTA yoga next week.

ダメな休日・・

今日は、この前日記に書いたシドニー・シェルダンの「Sky is Falling」を読破するぞ～！！と午前中から意気込んでいたものの、昼頃には眠気が・・・そして起きたら2時近く。。
それから再挑戦するも結局あまり読めなかった（－－；）
やっぱり英語の本読んでると必ず眠くなる。。
というか、今読んでいる本の内容があんまり面白くないんだよね・・なんか。
もうちょっと読んでいてドキドキできたり、共感できたりするものじゃないとダメかも。

本当は今日、朝から隣町の大きな図書館の学習室へ行こう！と決めていたんだけど、いろいろ準備してたら遅くなってしまいとうとう10時近くに。。
で、予定変更して洋書読みにしよう！思ったけどうまくいかなかった。
その図書館は車で２～30分くらいのところで、最近その近くの激安駐車場を発見し（1h＝100円！！安っ！）これは行かない手はない、という感じで。
学習室はかなり広いけど、開館と同時に行かないといい席がなくなるから、今日はスタート失敗。。
この前はちょうど席が空いてタイミング良かったから、受験生と肩を並べて勉強してた。
しーーーんとしていて、エンピツの音だけがカリカリと響くその学習室はかなり集中して勉強ができる。
もちろん冷暖房完備で、他の階にはランチルームもあるし♪
夏の間になるべく通おうと計画中　　

そんなわけで、今日の学習は洋書数十ページのみ。
夜にAIOとかやりたいけど。。
こうして今週も休日を無駄にした気がする

本屋でパラパラ見ていたら、なんとレイチェル・ワイズのインタビューがーー！！！　で、即買い。
ついでに英単語ネットワークとテレビで留学の８月号も購入。
CNN　EEって今までよく中身を見ていなかったんだけど、かなり便利そう。
前にWebでニュースの単語とか自分で調べていたときはものすごく時間ばかりかかって結局長続きしなかったけど、これなら意味も載ってるし、全部音声付だし、アナウンサーごとの喋り方の特徴も解説してるし（イギリス英語だとかアメリカ英語だとかの・・）なんだか良さそうなので、しばらく使ってみようかと。。
とにかく！！レイチェル・ワイズのインタビューだけは聞き込んでいくつもり

　
「ナイロビの蜂」以来気になってしょうがない女優さんです。。

～7/18 の学習～

今日は奇跡的に早起きできたので（ソファーに寝てたから！）これから何かするつもり。
最近サボり気味の「24時間で～」とかやりたいけど、読書もしたい・・・。

I could get tikets of Summer Sonic07 !!!
I wanted to get the first day's ticket, but it was already sold out and it is very high demand, so I couldn't buy it at yahoo auction because the price was too high.
The second day's ticket was also already sold out when I wanted to buy, but it was not so expensive than first day's ticket at the auction, so I could get two tickets of second day.
I'm going there with my younger sister.
Love of music and movie are common to both of us.
I can't wait it !!!

この番組なかなか面白いかも。テキスト買ったほうがいいのかどうか・・・

I rarely watch Japanese TV drama, but recently I keep watching "ライフ" on Saturday night.
This drama is based on comic, but its content is very serious bullying problem.
It makes me feeling down after watching the drama.
I don't know why, but I can't stop watching that....

趣味ブログ完成！

勉強できてないとか、眠いとか言ってる割には別のことばかりしている自分であります。
なぜか、好きなことしている時には眠くならない。。
（もちろん英語も好きなはずなんだけど・・・）
最近、読書熱が再燃してきたので、読書ブログ作ってみた。
読んだ本の内容ってわりとすぐに忘れるから、備忘録的に記録してみよう、というわけで。
でも全く自分の趣味なので、英語学習には全然関係ないけど。

～今日の学習～
■AIO復習　No.130まで

I went for a drink with my co-worker and boss yesterday.
We went to modern Japanese style bar.
The food and drinks are stylish and delicious.
But one person was drunken too much and he was swearing and cursing to the other co-worker.
We were trying to intervene between them.
But he didn't stop offensive and insulting language. No one could stop him at that time.
We got offended by his bad behavior.
He is normally modest and very quiet, but once he get drunk, he becomes very insistent and pick fight with other people.
I think he has to be responsible in his actions.
I often hear Japanese word "無礼講".
It means any rude words or behavior are accepted during drinking party.
I hate that custom. It's too ridiculous!!
If you are hard drunker, you may forget what you said last night.
Even if it was insulting word for someone.
But if a person who can't drink alcohol, he or she remember all the things what happened last night.
It generates grudge or bad blood.
I think if the people who can't control oneself, they must not drink alcohol.
They should know themself.

7/9, 10 の学習記録

今週からAIOの文章を最初から見直している。
もう何度もCDで聞いている文章だから文自体は覚えているくせに、実は意味がわかっていなかったり、単語や構文を忘れていたりするのがかなりある。
それと平行して、AIOエクササイズをやっているけどこれがなかなか進まなくて・・・
そういう文法の練習問題みたいなのをやっているとどうしても眠くなってくる。
しかも最近、朝は眠すぎて勉強のために特別には起きられないので（ベーグルが食べれると思うと起きれるのに・・！）なんとか夜のうちにやるしかないか・・・。

それと洋書読みもなかなか進まず・・。
まとまった時間で読もうとすると時間がとれなくて結局放置状態になってしまう。
学校みたいに「朝の10分間読書」にしてみようかな～。
10分でも毎日積み重なればけっこうな時間になるわけだし。
でも私の場合は「夕方or夜の10分間読書」になりそう。

※after の場合は、この後すぐに talk できるかどうか聞いてる感じで、later の場合は talk までに時間が空くかもしれないニュアンス。

I received bagels that I ordered last weekend.
Now there are a lot of bagels in my freezer.
Every morning, I thaw bagels in the microwave for 1 minute then cut it horizontally and after that toast it for 2 minute. Then spread flavored cream cheese on it.
It tastes good and I’m so happy because I can eat my favorite bagel every morning!!

■きょうから英会話
★医者に行くように勧める
・You should see a doctor.　病院へ行ったほうがいいよ。

<強い表現>　must　 →　 had better　 → 　should　<柔らかい表現>

★自分の格好についてコメントしてもらう
・How do I look？　　似合う？
・I'm lost for words.　言葉にできないくらいだ

★日にちを聞く
・What's the date today?　今日は何日ですか？
・What day is it today?　今日は何曜日ですか？
　　　↑　　　↑
この２つの表現って中学の教科書に載ってる超基本的なフレーズなのに、いざとなったら出てこなそうな気がする。混乱しないようにちゃんと覚えないと～！！

・I was bitten by a bug. Itchy.　　虫に刺されました。痒いです。
・I have stiff shoulders.　　肩がこった。
・Are you allergic to anything?　　何かアレルギーはありますか？
・I hope you feel better soon.　　お大事に
・Does this show include dinner?　　このショーには夕食が含まれていますか？
・Can I pay for the tickets with a credit card?　　クレジットカードで支払いできますか？
・How was your day today?　　どんな1日でしたか？
・It was quite a show, wasn't it?　　なかなかのショーでしたよね。
・I think the spirit of Hawaii and Japan has so much in common.
ハワイと日本の気風にはたくさんの共通点があると思う。

聞いても一瞬で理解できない文章を復習。

I went to shopping and bought pair of sandals on sale.
Actually I wanted to buy another sandal, but it was not onsale. It was 17,000 yen!!
In an ordinary way, I would buy it without hesitation, but now I'm short of cash....
So, I gave it up to buy expensive one, instead I bought reasonable one on sale.

今週の学習記録

NHKの番組がけっこうたまってきたのでこの週末で消化したい。
なかなか前みたいなペースに戻れないけど、頭の隅にはいつも英語のことが気にかかってます。
最近はベジ料理に凝っていて、それに毎晩パワーを注ぎ込むと英語をやる気力が落ちてしまう。。
今までは料理は手抜き、勉強優先みたいな感じだったんだけど・・・
バランスが難しい・・他にもやりたいことが沢山あるのに

受動態のところまで。

・bargaining　価格交渉
・break the ice　緊張をほぐす、場を和ませる
　※氷のように冷たくて堅苦しい雰囲気をほぐすこと

・sticky　ねばねばする、粘着性のある、
・drizzle with olive oil　オリーブオイルをたらす
　※drizzle　細い線のようにかけること

Yesterday, I lost my temper in his bad behavior.　
I reached the limit of my patience, because he went to bed without brushing his teeth again last night.
So I shouted furiously and said to him like this,
“Why are you so dirty? I can’t believe it!! I have been saying repeatedly. This is harassing behavior for me!! You are too nonchalance about your health!! If you continue your bad habit, I will never prepare your meal and do laundry!! And I regret married you now!!　 It was huge mistake. 　I’m serious. That’s enough already!!!!!”
Actually I exaggerated my saying to change his mind.
Next morning, I found that he was brushing his teeth before going to work.
It worked well ??!
I don’t know…. I guess it may be temporary.
My lonely war goes on…..

今日は昼間寝すぎて眠れない・・・
あんなに時間があったんだから昼間に英語やっとけばよかったのに～。
かなり後悔・・・。

I ordered many different kinds of tast.
And I like blueberry bagel the best.
